About
Fiona J Watson, LCSW
My curiosity about people and dedication to helping others began while volunteering at a children's hospital for epilepsy then studying Human Sciences at University College London After moving to New York, I continued this work of service by volunteering with the Samaritans, deepening my commitment to supporting others through moments of distress. After earning my Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College, I spent over a decade in the Department of Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Hospital, working with adults and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient care before opening my private practice in 2000.
Over the years, I have expanded my approach through training in Hypnotherapy, Reiki, Internal Family Systems, and Brainspotting. I draw from these methods to help clients uncover the root of their struggles, heal emotional wounds, and cultivate greater balance and self-compassion.
I believe therapy is most effective when it feels collaborative, respectful, and tailored to each person’s unique journey. My role is to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore, grow, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
